Home From Surgery!

I have been home for a couple of hours. I am confused and heavily medicated. I cannot stand on my own because of all the medication, which Mom says is to help me with the pain. She is able to get me outside, though, which I appreciate.

Poor Coco’s eyes definitely looked drugged. It will get better I promise. It’s rough the first few days but in two weeks you’ll forget all about these first few days. All Coco has to do for now is potty and rest and then rest some more. If you have any questions post on the recovery forum. Many here who have been there and a lot of good advice here and supportive to the MAX people willing to help. It took Max (a 110 # German Shepherd) a few days to master getting up and moving. Some do it faster and others take longer. Coco will do it when Coco’s ready. As friend Sally always says humans would still be in the hospital on a morphine drip if this happened to them. Each day will bring progress and new victories. Rest for now Coco.

    Yes, ditto Linda!

WELCOME HOME COCO!! Even in your druggy state you look like you are enjoying the sunshine!!

Rest, rest, eat, drink, potty…that’s all you need to be doing for several days. Some dogs don’t eat very well for a few days. My Happy Hannah never missed a meal, but I did have to entice her to drink by putting a scoop of ice cream in her water!

Coco, you look exquisite in all your recovery gear! You wear it well!

Let us know when she has her first pee and first poop. We celebrate anything around here! The first poo takes a few days with some dogs because of the meds. And she still has her hospital meds in her, as well as whatever she’s taking at home right now.

Looking forward to more updates and…slowly but surely, but not yet….hearing about her sparkle coming back!

Hang in there! You’re doing great!!

    Hugs to all!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!
